Pre-Diabetes
Pre-diabetes affects about 57 million Americans – most of whom are unaware that they have this pre-cursor to diabetes. Do you know the symptoms of pre-diabetes?
Though being overweight can cause you to become insulin resistant, about 15% of people diagnosed are normal weight. Unexplained weight loss can be another sign of pre-diabetes.
Other possible signs:
Increased thirst and the need to urinate
Dry, itchy skin
Blurred vision
Slow healing cuts, sores, bruises and more frequent infection
Red, swollen, tender gums
Persistent feeling of hunger even after eating
Lack of energy
Moodiness, irritability
Tingling, numbness in hands and feet
Loss of sex drive and erectile dysfunction in men
