Omega 3s – Still More to Know
With all the buzz about omega-3 fatty acids, health professionals are ready to give it the title of “fountain of health.” After all, the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, walnuts, flaxseed and soybeans are heart health promoters. They lower triglycerides, reduce your risk of arrythmias, lower your risk of death if you’ve had a heart attack AND they also boost brain power and mood. Let’s not forget that omega-3s may also help to battle cancer, arthritis and diabetes.
As mentioned if you are not a big fish eater, then consider adding soybeans, walnuts and/or flaxseed regularly to your diet. Salmon, herring and mackerel are good fish sources of this fat. You can also take daily fish oil capsule supplements to meet your omega-3 fatty acid needs.
