Healthy Steps to the Capitol

During the entire month of April 2009, students in HealthCorps® schools used Omron pedometers to compete against each other to see who can walk the farthest. The winning student in each school won a pair of athletic shoes courtesy of Rack Room Shoes. Many schools were recording over 10,000,000 steps a week with some students and faculty members consistently walking over 50,000 steps a day. In some schools, students walked in place in the back of classrooms instead of being seated during classes. With so much walking, they may need their new Rack Room shoes!
