HealthCorps
Wall of America
Day

A portion of the Wall of America depicting Mehmet Oz performing surgery.

Artist Ellen Griesedieck has been creating a five-story tall, 120-foot long, mural depicting people from across America and incorportating art created by young Americans. On Saturday, October 6th, she brought a piece of the mural to the Gallery Henoch in Manhattan. The roughly fifteen foot-tall honeycomb aluminum panel depicted HealthCorps Founder Mehmet Oz performing surgery.
In addition to capturing a moment in America, the mural is intended to encourage an interest in the professions depicted in the mural. The mural incorporates elements created by students across the country.
HealthCorps students are decorating tongue depressors to be included in the giant mural near Dr. Oz. On October 6th, HealthCorps participants and friends came by Gallery Henoch to decorate tongue depressors. Coordinators at each HealthCorps school have tongue depressors for their students to decorate, and HealthCorps will have an
American Mural Project table at Healthy Halloween in Tompkins Scare Park on October 27th where the young and the young-at-heart can decorate tongue depressors for this project.
